Reformer adds resistance via springs and is excellent for rehab and progressive strength work. Mat is more accessible (no equipment) and emphasises bodyweight control. Most studios offer both.
Can I claim Pilates through private health?
Some funds rebate Pilates under "exercise physiology" if delivered by an EP, or under group-class extras. Check with your fund and your instructor.
